Planning for Recovery City of Sydney Covid-19 ResponseThe Australian Federal Government has delivered the three-phase ‘Road Map’, with some relaxing of the restrictions in NSW.

City Recovery Plan – Community & Business Survey

As the state cautiously enters into a recovery period, the City has launched a survey targeted at residents and businesses across the retail, hospitality, tourism, tech, international education, sustainability, cultural and creative sectors.

Information gathered will be used to highlight key insights on how the industry sector, staff and the community are planning for recovery. The data collected will assist in futureproofing and support businesses through this challenging and uncertain time.

The survey is open now and will run until 3 June 2020.

City of Sydney Covid-19 relief grant programs

The City endorsed a total relief funding of $72.5 million so far, including $47.5 million funding package for local businesses, cultural and creative industries and the community support sector. The funding will mean new grants, support services and cash donations for businesses and communities impacted by the coronavirus.

The grant applications have now closed and the recommendations report will be addressed at the Council meeting on Monday 18 May. The report will be made available online prior to the meeting. Council meetings are now being held using Zoom, with meetings live streamed on the City’s website.
